MINA MCINTIRE, SOPRANO

Recognized for her stage presence, agility, and high extension, lyric soprano Mina McIntire is a performer currently based in Peoria, IL. She is a versatile soloist of energy and strength, comfortable performing in a variety of genres from opera to musical theater. Mina reprised the role of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed the roles: Miss. Jessel from Turn of the Screw by Britten at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, La Fée from Cendrillon by Massenet at Illinois Wesleyan University, Mabel from Pirates of Penzance at Peoria Players, and Johanna from Sweeney Todd at Eureka College. Mina received her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University and Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During her time at the University of Illinois, she studied voice under the tutelage of Professor Dawn Harris and held a Teaching Assistantship as a Vocal Instructor for Lyric Theatre @ Illinois.
